It is not currently possible for a role to respond to a task and attach a photo unless they have editing rights which also permits them to edit the original task description.Being able to evidence that e.g. damage has been repaired, with a photo is core functionality, however so is ensuring the original task description is not editable. Note: Terminology of 'Original Task' is confusing in the role rights - it should be consistent with the form terminology of 'my business unit'.
'Partial' editing rights would also be useful on form design where e.g. a subcontractor could edit part of a form but not others. Appreciate that Scheduling & Contribution functionality can do this however this is too complex to be usefble on individual forms - needs to be set up in form design.
Help desk suggested I raise this as an enhancement - however I would say the editing rights for tasks issue is more fundamental functionality.

You are right, there are actually a few items that are bundled in this request. Subs can attach photos which is now resolved.
There is a solution to lock down editing rights. You can disable anyone from editing a task type description. Remove the "Edit Task Type" permission from all roles, and create a new role with just this permission - you can then grant the new role to the people who need to edit task types.
Hi Betsie, can you confirm that we now have ability to restrict a certain role to NOT be able to edit the 'description' field of a task, but still can add-to/edit other task fields? I couldn't find the details of this in the release notes, if you could give the link to this info it would be much appreciated
This was resolved the in the most recent release. Thank you for the suggestion.
