We currently load in the same information (forms, tasks, causes etc.) to every project which is repetitive and time consuming, it would be beneficial if we could create a project using a template which pre-loads the relevant information in.

Sarah Schofield - I believe your distribution list request is covered under this suggestion. You should vote for it. https://viewpoint.aha.io/ideas/ideas/FV-I-520
Thanks
David Thornhill - Your observations are correct. I see you voted on the "move project within BUs" suggestion back in September. Thanks
Initially I thought that the ability to copy a project would be the solution to this problem. However, it is not possible to copy a project between levels within a business structure. Therefore a template that can be assigned to all levels below its assigned business level would be better option.
For example; we have 31 different Business Units. This isn't excessive considering there are several different functions and each of those is split into geographical region. In order to use the Copy Project function, we would need to maintain 31 different "Blank" Projects for use as templates.
Not sure if this should go on this thread but it is distribution related...
I would find it really beneficial and efficient if distribution lists were on a project template. Would be even better if the distribution could also be automatically related to specific roles on the project... For example... Specific form, specific status would be distributed to a specific role on the project. People come and go on projects and trying to keep these updated is a nightmare...
Ok - so what I'm hearing is that distribution lists are just enough different between project that it would not make sense to copy them, but would make sense to spend the time on providing a more efficient means of creating them (spreadsheet import). Thank you for your feedback; I really appreciate your input.
That's great news! I think it would also be useful to copy packages, we assign two packages as standard to every project. These do get added to as the project goes on so maybe with the copy function we could select which packages we want to copy?
With regards to the distribution lists, our distribution lists differ between projects albeit they follow the same naming convention it's just the project name that changes. I wonder if this needs to be raised as a new suggestion to look at the way we add distribution lists to forms - as Graeme suggested a spreadsheet would be much more beneficial and cut down the time we spend adding distribution lists to every form.
Hi
We would also welcome the ability to add business people and the distribution lists to the project. This addition would save a lot of time.
If you want to make it even better again, the ability to edit the distribution list from a spreadsheet would be brilliant

I have good news. We are working on adding another option to Copy Project - the ability to copy Business Users from one project to another. What should come next - perhaps the ability to also include the Distribution Lists that are assigned to the Form Templates? I'm not sure if this is possible but would like your input.
Thank you Denise!! This is going to save so much time! I agree with Sarah, the ability to copy users would be great as we have at least 10-15 of the same users that need access to projects, depending on the region they fall under.
The ability to copy users would be a great... We have certain users who have to go on every project
Under Business Setups > Projects, when you right-click on a project there is an option to Copy Project. This function has the options to copy Task Types, Causes, and Form Templates from one existing project to a new project. We would consider adding to this copy feature. What other items would make sense to copy from one project to a new one?
Thank you, Denise Olsen (Field View Product Owner)
