Urgently enhance the security of signatures on a tablet, to match security of signatures on the web

Restriction to be put in place where you can only sign something on the Tablet, if you are the person logged in during that session or you have the password of another user, other than the user logged in. I believe this is the process on the website, which works well as a security measure of inputting a password instead of a signature. What I'm proposing here is that a user can only input a signature as another user within a form, if they have their password or that when a subbie logs in, they can only view their own organisation to sign against.

    Hello,

I'm sure this used to be a feature on the tablets. Not sure why it would have been removed if it was.

We should only be able to sign a form in the name of the person logged in at the time. Perhaps a password prompt if signing in another's name but this seems to go against GDPR guidelines.

I don't think form security should be compromised for convenience.

    Hi,

I would say we still need this. Same issue as Ravi. We don't want subbies signing off forms they shouldn't.

    Hi Betsie

Yes I would still like to see this delivered please. This would make the forms much more secure as they are on the web.

    Thanks, John

    Betsie,

This is still a requirement as we have subbies validating their build stage conform to fire safety standards. If users are able to sign off as other users this completely negates our fire safety process.

    Regards,

    Ravi

    Betsie

Pro’s and Con’s here mind. If I have a register for multiple people to sign, I need to select the users name and get them to sign. If each had to sign in, I would revert to using paper!!

Reviewing older requests and I ran across this.  I appreciate wanting to have additional security.  Is this still a top issue?  Have you found a suitable work around to verify the person who is signing in say a large list of people can be verified by the tablet owner or person logged in?

Doing this will also solve the problem of large user lists, where it is difficult to find your name every time you sign a form there is a huge list to scroll through to confirm the name of the user.  When pressing the sign button only the person logged in would appear.

Lisa, I agree with what you've stated in your comment but the issue is that when you give a subbie access to a form, they can sign the form as any user they wish. They are able to select any organisation and sign as any user and there is nothing that prevents this. On the website, instead of an electronic signature there is the need to input a password, which acts as a security measure but on the app, nothing stops someone from signing on behalf of a colleague or inputting a signature as the main contractor. We have a number of similar forms whereby the signature section is not always to completed with both the main contractor and the subbie present and when there are a huge amount of these forms being raised, it is harder to manage.

Please create a special signature field for this request. We need more flexibility to add people and signatures to forms not less.

Our safety department require non-device users to add their signatures to their forms (e.g. site meetings, safety orientation, first aid, etc.). The form is created by Safety Officer and then they may require signatures from attendees or witnesses
