Submit Your Suggestions For Field View

Release PC version of fieldview

Restriciting FV to only work on phone or tablet is preventing mass role out.  It is not cost effective to procure tablets for all designers, particually those who are on site intermittently.  If all parties cannot use this software effectively then its value is lost.

    James your users can download the Field View app to their PC/laptop. The app is in the Microsoft store. Once you install the app, it acts the exact same as if you were using it on a mobile device. You will need to setup a device name and everything. You can add tasks the exact same way as well. If not for this, then yes I totally agree that adding tasks through the website is terrible.

    I am finding the requirement to have a separate piece of hardware (tablet or mobile phone) to use Fieldview is restrictive.  It is not cost effective to issue all employees with a tablet, whereas all employees will have access to a PC or laptop.

     

    From my experience with Fieldview it is not necessary to be stood on site while reporting a snag or defect.  It seems to me that Fieldview could be used just as effectively on a PC as on a tablet.

     

    There are many roles where site visits are made on an ad hoc basis, where an operative would only need access to Fieldview once or twice a month.  For these users it would be beneficial to be able to log snags through their existing PC.

    Hello James,

    This product was created for mobile use in the field. We added to it recently by allowing those who bring their own device to work which mainly is mobile phones to enable all users to communicate what is happening on site. Is there an internal process that you want to talk through on better adoption at ADCW?
