Submit Your Suggestions For Field View

login screen should be user based as opposed to project based

The current tablet user login requests to sync projects then shows the list of users on the right hand side. This is a security risk as a user who is on the project can click on another users name and attempt to guess their password. As there are no security policies available within the Field View product, the password can be set to something simple.

As we assign tablets to users etc this current login screen is not effective for ourselves as we require the User to sync and a list of their projects to appear on the right-hand side. The user would then click on his project, enter his password and then sync the project as part of the logon process.

This would reduce overhead as there is no need to create multiple device names, be more secure for the user/organisation and also be more user friendly as the user does not have to enter new device details or switch projects.

We are evaluating how to solve for the scenario presented here, first and foremost is security. Today, you can force a password reset to use a strong password which is now required for all password resets. Second point, is using multifactor authentication and SSO amongst Viewpoint products which is in the works and is being rolled out across products.

Somewhat agree, although if a user picked up an unlocked device that didn't belong to them they would be able to guess the password anyway. Perhaps adding Active Directory Single Sign On Multi Factor Authentication would help.... if Viewpoint would add Single Sign on that is....

However, it would be great if the application was more user based, as the suggestion above, similar to that of Procore or Plangrid or even VFP and Team (Viewpoints other platforms, which do not require this archaic login screnario). You download the app to the device and then login to your account which provides you with a list of all the projects you have been assigned to - you then choose what projects to sync so as to not eat up all storage on the device. Currently within our Organisation, I have built over 1200+ "devices". This is time consuming to say the least in the build time, assigning, instructing users on how to sync, troubleshooting issues, etc

Please can we stop with this silliness and have the application based on user login and allow access to all projects without the need for syncing specific device details.
