Add ability to attach files (not just photos) from mobile app

Our use case for this involves Subcontractor Daily Reports. Our superintendents would like to be able to receive the Sub Daily as a PDF file and attach it to the Superintendent Daily Report as a PDF.

Allow sources as any source on iPad. E.g.: Dropbox,Egnyte, box, etc

For LOR most of our projects don't have access to wifi onsite, and if they are in the office they can use the website rather than the tablet.  This probably wouldn't add any value for us unless it was also available offline.

Agree, lets get it working whilst online to start with and then add offline as soon after that as you can please.

    Hello Denise.

Yes, I believe it wouldnt raise any issue on my projects if device are required to be online as most of them are within urban area. Mobile network connectivity or wifi is notnan issue for us.

    HI Denise,

I think viewing/attaching whilst the device is online would be a start for sure, but ultimately the goal would be to add documents offline as well.

Currently, the ability to view an attached doc is available only when the device is online. This suggestion will be easier to deliver if we require the same here - for the ability to attach documents to be available only when the device is online. Would you all be okay with this requirement or would you rather wait for offline capabilities?

    Thank you,

    Denise,

Again as per others, if we could start with PDF to get this out quicker that would be great.

90% of the time would mainly be pdfs. but would be useful to have the option of Office files like Word & Excel.

Viewing the PDF attachment on the sign off sheet report is the ultimate goal, currently you can only view a electronic form associated with this process step. As part of a QA cycle you may need to upload evidnece of a step in the process that is can not be an electronic form and or could be from a stakeholder not ob your FV platform.

    Hi Denise,

Agree with the below. Even if the first release of this could be PDF that would make a big difference, going forward, Office files, namely Excel and Word.

Office files (at least Excel and Word) would be useful

If only having one file format (.pdf) would expedite this, to more quickly push this update out; I and our organization personally would be fine with that.

But others may like to also have .doc (Word) or .xls (Excel) formats supported as well.

    Hi everyone -

Is it enough to allow for PDFs to be attached to form from mobile or are there other file types you might have on a mobile device that also need to be supported?

    Thank you,

Denise Olsen - Field View Product Owner

This would also be very handy when adding test sheets to a check sheet or asset
